The inaugural Scott Harman Memorial Golf Outing will be held on October 9th at Worthington Hills Country Club in Columbus. Scott was an OSU PGM intern at Worthington Hills and he passed away suddenly in 2012. The outing has been organized by Logan Braun and other members of the Ohio State chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Logan is also a student in the OSU PGM program. All proceeds from the outing will benefit the newly established Scott Harman Professional Golf Management Scholarship Fund, which will award scholarships to deserving OSU PGM students.
As described by his family and friends, Scott touched more lives in 20 years than most people do in 80 years. Scott was an enthusiastic and very skilled golfer who joined the OSU PGM program with the goal of becoming a member of the PGA of America and a head golf professional. He was a 2010 graduate of Oakwood High School, near Springfield, and excelled in other sports, including baseball, soccer, surfing and snowboarding. Scott was also an accomplished musician. The OSU PGM scholarship is a fitting way to honor and remember Scott.
The 4-person scramble outing is set for a shotgun start at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow at 6 pm at Worthington Hills. In addition to team registrations, there are sponsorship opportunitites available, to benefit the scholarship fund. Teams or individuals may register on-line until October 5th at harmanmemorial.eventzilla.com or by contacting Alex Kemper at (419) 953-2683 or email@example.com. Prizes will be awarded for long drive, closest to the pin, and 1st, 2nd & 3rd place team finishers.
